Upper eyelid surgery is performed through incisions made above the eye; during the procedure, excess skin, fat, and muscle are removed in order to lift and open the eye lids. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty may be performed through an incision directly below the eyelashes or, more commonly, through the pink part of the eye. After making the initial incision, cosmetic surgeon Andrew Campbell then removes any fat deposits below the eye, giving the face a more youthful appearance.
